Lundin Links Hotel Closes it's Doors

It was with genuine sadness that we noted the closure in the past couple of weeks of the nearby Lundin Links Hotel in Upper Largo.

The hotel is a prominent landmark on the Fife Coastal route and while local hotels may always be seen as competition we always had a great rapport and co-operation with owners through the years in promoting the East Neuk of Fife as a golfing and short break destination..

The loss of the hotel is a blow to the staff employed there and disappointing for visitors and locals alike who may have been planning a visit.

If you had a reservation at The Lundin Links Hotel for this year give us a call and we'll see what we can do for you. Likewise if you had advance bookings for The Open at St Andrews in 2015 or any other event we will discuss your options with you.

And now that The Lundin Links Hotel is closed you may be looking for a new dining venue for Sunday lunches, bar suppers or evening meals? Why not have a look at our new menus on the website or maybe take advantage of one of our great winter offers.

Rod Clements LIve at The Inn

Fans of Lindisfarne will need no introduction to the name of Rod Clements and The Inn are delighted to announce his return to the intimate Fife venue for a live performance on Saturday 8th of February.

Whilst he is undoubtedly best known for his work with Lindisfarne for whom he wrote some of their best known songs, 'Meet Me On The Corner' and 'Road To Kingdom Come', he was also co-founder of the offshoot lineup 'Jack The Lad'. As a bassist and singer, he has also played and recorded with artists and groups such as Ralph McTell and Pentangle, Bert Jansch, davy Graham, John Renbourn and Mark Knopfler. He's always been proficient on several instruments but his live outings have lately seen a concentration on the Resonator guitar.

8.00pm doors and show starts at 9.00pm.

The Snowdrop Walk at Cambo Estate in Fife is famous for its wonderful and uplifting sea of Snowdrops. This amazing spectacle offers walks to the sea through 70 acres of woodland carpeted in snowdrops, snowflakes and aconites. Visitors can discover over 300 varieties of snowdrops which make up a National Collection.

Only a short drive from The Inn at Lathones it's another reason to have a short break in Fife this year.

Planning Your Golf in Fife for 2014

There happens to be a small golf event happening in Scotland in 2014!

Yes the Ryder Cup is returning to Scotland for the first time in decades in September but we at The Inn at Lathones are well used to looking after golfers year in year out. The Open returns to St Andrews every five years (2015 next) and The Dunhill is played over both The Old Course and nearby Kingsbarns.

So 2014 is just another golfing year for The Inn; another year of helping golfers from all over the world make the most of their time on and off the course

Fife golf will forever be associated with St. Andrews, the Home of Golf itself, however there is more to "the Kingdom" than just the Old Course and the county offers a superb choice of links, parkland, heathland and any other land that may be available.

And whilst you may never be far from the history and heritage of the great game is isn't all about stuffy old clubhouses and arcane traditions.

Fife offers the golfer some of the best, most modern and most relaxed facilities available in the whole of Scottish and British golf with major investment over the years not only in newer courses such as Kingsbarns, Fairmont and The Castle but reinvestment in visitor facilities at "traditional" gems such as Crail and Ladybank.

There are great golfing challenges across the county to suit all levels of play and all budgets with some great deals available throughout the year using a number of golf cards and passes or through the Fife Golf Hotels offers direct with the courses themselves.

The First in Fife Golf Pass brings together a collection of great value golf courses and whilst it is a three or five day golf card you can chose to play one on its own.

Links With History is another scheme bringing together four Open Championship Qualifying Golf Courses with a slight discount.

Both passes can be pre-arranged by The Inn at Lathones or booked direct through the golf pass websites themselves.

In short whatever you're looking for in a golf course you can find it in Fife and if you want some professional advice on where your group should be playing you can get it from The Inn at Lathones.

Winter Weather Calls For Winter Food

The Inn at Lathones has been serving it's winter menu for a few weeks now and it has been going down - excuse the terminology  - a storm!

The new menu reflects the much more informal dining style now offered at The Inn and you can choose to dine in the restaurant or the bar area. If you haven't been for a while we'd love to see you again and  we think you will be pleasantly surprised at some of the subtle changes.

You can download the new Winter Menus from the website. You don't need to reserve a table but we would always suggest it.
