The Inn at Lathones New Mobile Website
Check this out on your smart phone if you get the time.
We were as usual guineau pigs for the development team at Plan B to try out their new products and gizmos but I have to say we're pretty delighted with what they've produced for us.
The Inn at Lathones now has it's very own Mobile Version website! I know from travellling around that the last thing I want when looking for hotel information is a full blown website with a load of information that I don't need. The new mobile version strips the content down to solid information with images in a gallery, Google maps with directions and street view and easy to use online booking which mirros my main website and means that I don't have to update it twice. Yes I like this new tool!
Have a look and see what you think!

Mary Coughlan book ticket is filling quickly!!
Born 5 May 1956, Co.Galway, Eire. This acclaimed Irish singer's troubled upbringing manifested itself in an erratic career path, including stints as a model and a street-sweeper.
After moving to London in the mid-70s she married and began raising a family, before terminating the union and returning to Galway with her children. She began her singing career in 1984, working with Dutch producer Erik Visser (who became her long-term collaborator).
The following year she made an acclaimed appearance on the Late Late Show and recorded her first album, which showcased her powerful and bluesy jazz stylings and became an unexpected bestseller in her native Ireland. Despite her ongoing personal problems, Coughlan continued to reap praise for her recorded output on WEA Records. On Under The Influence she revived the 1948 Peggy Lee hit "Don't Smoke In Bed" and the Billie Holiday ballad "Good Morning Heartache", as well as Christy Moore's "Ride On".
In 1988, Coughlan made her acting debut in Neil Jordan's High Spirits, and released Ancient Rain. Her fourth album, Uncertain Pleasures, was recorded in England with producer Peter Glenister, former musical director for Terence Trent D'Arby.
It included new compositions by Mark Nevin (Fairground Attraction) and Bob Geldof as well as cover versions of the Rolling Stones' "Mother's Little Helper" and the Elvis Presley hit "Heartbreak Hotel".

Rangers V Celtic
GOAL!!! Rangers 1-0 Celtic (Ness 3) What a stonking strike this is! Diouf, getting a rousing reception from the home fans to drown out the boos, wins a corner. On the edge of the box, it drops out to Jamie Ness who larrups the thing into the top corner before Forster can even think about moving.
Enjoy hope your Team win.

Why no Ham in a Hamburger?
During a trip to Asia in the early 1800s, a German merchant – it is said – noticed that the nomadic Tartars softened their meat by keeping it under their saddles. The motion of the horse pounded the meat to bits. The Tartars would then scrape it together and season it for eating. The idea of pounded beef found its way back to the merchant’s home town of Hamburg where cooks broiled the meat and referred to it as it as Hamburg meat.
German immigrants introduced the recipe to the US. The term “hamburger” is believed to have appeared in 1834 on the menu from Delmonico’s restaurant in New York but there is no surviving recipe for the meal. The first mention in print of “Hamburg steak” was made in 1884 in the Boston Evening Journal.

Cheers
Why do people clink their glasses before drinking a toast? It
used to be common for someone to try to kill an enemy by offering
him a poisoned drink. To prove to a guest that a drink was safe,
it became customary for a guest to pour a small amount of his
drink into the glass of the host. Both men would drink from
their glasses simultaneously. When a guest trusted his host, he
would then touch - or clink - the host's glass with his own.
