Oh six nations

England want to hammer Scotland ! That's a tuff call especially as its at Murryfield a week on Saturday. Scotland will want to forget Italy but lets not take anything away from the Italians they demonstrated a masterclass of rucking and linking phases together in the last 20 minuets of the game that just stopped Scotland from doing anything. They have come such a long way and good for them. I do wish the ref would stop being blind at the breakdown as he seems to never see the Italian hand or body that slows or steals ball.
Ireland played a good game, not sure they deserved the win, and again the ref had a couple of astonishing calls which went a long way to structuring the final score.
France are so much fun to watch unless your playing them that is ! As usual they are building too early for the world cup and will miss out again, shame as they deserve to be world beaters. they play rugby like they live life, lets turn up, throw the ball about and see what happens! does that not remind you of the French "shrug of the shoulders"? as if to say so!
The welsh what can you say! They create stars from the ashes. The singing is spectacular!
You know , I'm sitting here writing this and it's just dawned on me what a really great game it still is. I hope you all take time to go to at least one international and sit amongst the opposing teams supporters, its how I have made so many great friend down the years.

British bobsleigh girls crash out at Winter Olympics

The British Girls on the two man bobsleigh crashed at 80 miles and hour. How anyone gets up and manages to walk away from a crash like that is just beyond me. Thankfully they were both Ok.

Fifestock ? Where is it? What is it?

Scotland smallest festival? So small it doesn't have a venue according to the radio, its in a field in St Andrews. They talked about rain coats, Fife Council, fields even the "Hotel" where they can go back and drink with the artist!! Maybe I'm missing something here.

Maybe Fifestock should be in a field next year in February !! that would take mud to a new and exciting level.

Posted by a sheep in a field somewhere close to St Andrews --- looking at a strange white building that plays music each night to help me sleep. Some people (In the know) call it St Andrews Oldest Coaching Inn other just call it "Lathones"

There is NO snow in FIFE!

Don't believe the forecasters we have no snow and frankly we have had so much rain that even if we did get snow it couldn't settle.

Jenny Batten plays her gig tonight to an almost packed room. She played three and bit world tour with the legend Micheal Jackson. You won't experience better guitar playing and your know all the songs

Enjoy it !!

Tiger finds Bhuda

Its good to see Tiger out and about again, you have to feel for his poor wife but I will throw my six penny worth into the pot by saying that what happened to Tigers "friends" they must have known what was going on and didn't do much if anything to stop him. I say to Mr Woods work on the family and golf and get back to playing golf like we all know you can, remember the children and have fun with them. Best of luck at the Open

Cars of the Future?

I don't know if you have seen the news this morning, but there was a report of some Californian who owns an electric sports car which, even though he said it himself, is faster than a standard petrol one. Is that believable? Well, I don't know.
Apparently California is at the forefront of the electric car revolution and the rest of us will follow suit very shortly.
Electric cars are not too expensive to buy but then cost a bit more should you have to "retire" them. However, they are much kinder to the environment and much less noisy, too.
I don't know if they are going to be a common sight in the near (or distant) future, but I certainly would like to have a go at one, just to see what all the fuss is about.

Something to make you smile...

"Europeans, like some Americans, drive on the right side of the road, except in Britian, where they drive on both sides of the road; Italy, where they drive on the sidewalk; and France, where if neccessary they will follow you right into the hotel lobby."
"At my hotel room my friend came over and asked to use the phone. I said: Certainly. He said: Do I need to dial 9? I said: Yeah, especially if it is in the number. You can try 4 and 5 back to back real quick."

What a weekend for sport!

Scotland what Happened!! England you should have lost!!Ireland got beaten by a better team! and poor old Tom, sound like he is going to be ok. Thank goodness. It just proves, if you stay with it and keep focused you can win over in the end. Hard lesson, lets hope they have learned from it.

Are you the lucky one that won in the Lotto yesterday? What to do with all that's absolutely mind-blowing! But I am sure that the winner will find some way to spend this newly gained fortune. I certainly have some ideas...

Let's hope Scotland will also be lucky when it comes to their match against Wales today. We do really wish them a win! Chris Pattersons 100th cap should surely bring them some boost in the luck department.

Not so lucky was the Georgian Olympic luger that crashed into a steel pole and died as a result of his injuries. What a tragedy for the Georgian team as well as the organisors of the Winter Olympics. Let's hope this will be the only incident.

We are certainly lucky to be able to experience another night of Snowy White. It was a really good gig last night and with tonight being sold out it only promises to be even better!

Weekend for lovers !!

Friends of ours have gone to France for the weekend, there in love! He is Irish and she is English both are passionate. One about Rugby and all things Irish, the other is a complete self confessed shopaholic. So Valentines weekend was the perfect excuse to have a short break in Paris, one of the worlds most romantic places! Love takes on so many forms! understanding each other - for one!!!

Scottish Wine?

Can you imagine you might be sipping wine which was grown not too far away from here at some point in the near future? You might think that this is more than impossible considering the Scottish climate. But the South-African chef/owner Peter Gottgens of the Perthshire-based Ardeonaig Hotel has planeted 48 wines on the hotel's grounds with the intention of planting another 800 vines if everything goes well. Some might call him crazy...some might call him brave, he definately thinks that someone has to be first. He was inspired by the Canadian and Swedish desert wines as their climate is similar to ours and thinks that it might be possible to produce some wine, even though it will most likely not rival the big wine producing countries. So, even though it might turn out to be more vinegar than wine, it is certainly worth a try and we wish Peter all the best with this adventure!

Back from Florida

Just back to Sunny Scotland (photo is of the Gulf of Mexico not Kingsbarns!!) after two weeks in the sun! We have some great music coming up in the Fifestock festival and will also be bring more info on the amazing Bluebird Cafe event in April shortly.

Picked up a paper yesterday for the first time in two weeks to see we are taking only 4 MPs to court. I think we are all in the wrong job! Great to see we have some morals in football with dear Terry being fired as Captain of England. Its not so long ago where he would have stepped down in in pure embarrassment. Still Mr Blair taught us all how its always someone else who is at fault!

Oh well here we go with 2010

one of the Greatest

Have you read the St Andrews Citizen this week? Our very own Music Promoter David Mundell is amongst the greatest in Fife but, we know that already! He is 59th in the guide to the 100 greatest Fifers of all time. We are very proud of him and hope he continues to be one of the greatest.

Talking of great we have another Music genius playing the Inn tonight, Paul Rose. If you would like to come and join us for a great night be quick.

That's January over with, so we will all feel a bit cheerier I hope. Is everyone organised for Valentines day? Have you got something romantic organised?
One of our local Golfing Societies - Crail has won an award for Craighead Course. The world's top award for golf course architects. Well done to Gil Hanse.
Everyone have a great weekend and we will see some of you at the Dick Gaughan gig tonight. If you want to come along we have a few tickets left.
