It's reminiscent of a blackadder sketch and would be just as funny if it wasn't true
The General, who wanders through life with no clue as to what is really going on in the real world, and his little headless "gofer" running around his feet saying we are "in a strong position!"
This government seems hell bent on trying to stop enterprise in its tracks! Small business has been hit hard with the change in Vat (now the highest for hospitality in Europe) and the NI Increase of 1%. This on top of the bill to obtain a licence to sell liquor a cool £8500 for the Inn increased business rates, increase fuel prices (highest ever seen). Highest food prices ever. What fun!!!
This is not the scary part though. The really scary part is that everyone needs a break (I'm talking the real people who have been and still are affected by this mess, the banks have caused, and we are all in ) but in order for them to take a break they need discounts. It doesn't take much to work out that this not a viable business plan.
My quote for Brown and Darling:
