If you are not in the festive mood yet, why not go to the famous German Christmas Market in Edinburgh. It opened on Nov, 26th and can be visited until Dec, 24th which means that you still have 18 days left to soak in the atmosphere and buy some great presents. This year the Market has a new location: on the Mound presinct, next to the National Gallery. The best time to go to the Christmas Market is when it is dark and cold, as you really can appreciate the warming effect of the mulled wine and the beautiful lights that surround the town centre. Have a go on the Ferris Wheel (beware: it can be freezing when you are stuck on top) and stroll through Winter Wonderland. A note on the mugs: When you visit a Christmas Market in Germany every town has their own mugs for the mulled wine and they change every year. This means that the mugs from big and well-known Christmas Markets such as Nuremberg, Dresden and Stuttgart, are very collectable. So, why not go and enjoy one evening in the hussle and bussle of the Christmas Market in order to prepare for this "special" time of year, whatever this means for you!
